Three NRIs, including two women, were killed when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and crashed into a wall, police said.
The trio suffered fatal injuries in the accident, which occurred when they were returning from work in Wolverhampton, police said Friday night. All the three were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased were named as Jaspal Virdee, 28, from Sutton Coldfield; Jaswinder Randhawa, 28, from Wolverhampton and a young woman named only as Anita.
Jaspal Virdee's 19-year-old Tajveer said she had been driving Randhawa's Subaru Impreza car. Describing her as a nice person and foundation of their family, he said, "it's going to be a very hard time trying to fill the gap. She loved her music, she loved going out, clubbing and things like that? She was just a lovely person."
He said all the three killed in the accident were friends. Jaspal has worked as a health and safety associate for Carillion.
Randhawa's uncle Satnam Singh, 51, said his nephew, who was married but had no children, had recently bought the car. "He was great, he had never been in any trouble. He was honest, always laughing."
Staffordshire police have launched an investigation into the crash.
