Nojoud Ali, the Yemeni girl who was married and divorced by the age of eight, has launched her autobiography. Nojoud, now aged 10, is in Paris promoting the book, which is set to be a worldwide

Last year, a court in Yemen annulled Nojoud's arranged marriage to a 29-year-old man. The minimum age for marriage is currently 15 in the Middle Eastern country, but parents can overrule the law if they judge that their daughter is "ready" for marriage.

Noujoud's family had decided she was, forcing her to live with Faez Ali Thameur, who had sex with her from day one. She was also regularly beaten by her husband.

Now, Nojoud and her sister Hifa (8) are able to go to school thanks to donations from human rights activists and celebrities, including Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice and Nicole Kidman. Said Nojoud, "I want to return to school, to become a lawyer and help other girls like me."

Yemen is notorious for its child brides.
