Five Indian students in Saudi Arabia, returning home after appearing in their examinations, have been critically injured in a car crash, according to media reports


Jeddah: Five Indian students in Saudi Arabia, returning home after appearing in their examinations, have been critically injured in a car crash, according to media reports.

The accident happened on Friday when the driver of the car in which the students were travelling in lost control and hit a tree on the roadside.

The condition of some of the students, who sustained head injuries, is critical, according to a Saudi Gazette report on Friday.

Two students Muzammil Ahmed and Huzaifa Mahmoud Al-Bari are from Lucknow, while Ajaz Muhammad is from Hyderabad. The others -- Usama Muhammad and Lloyd Cheruvathur Samson -- are from Gujarat and Kerala respectively.

Samson is a student of the Al Falah International School, while the four others are from the International Indian School Jeddah, the report said.

The students were admitted to Al Jedaani Hospital and Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah.

"We have donated blood as directed by the hospital authorities and are staying within reach of the two hospitals in order to provide any emergency support," a school official said.
