Asking Trump if he had ever read the US constitution, Khizr Khan, father of Humayun S M Khan who was one of the 14 American Muslims who served US forces for 10 years and died in Iraq in 2004, told Americans to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

"Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with our future. Let me ask you: Have you even read the US Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy. In this document, look for the words "liberty" and "equal protection of law," Khan said amidst applause from the audience.

"You have sacrificed nothing and no one. We can't solve our problems by building walls and sowing division," he said.
