New York: The cover of the January-edition of Fortune magazine features Amazon's CEO Jeff Besos as Hindu god Vishnu.

Indian communities in US are angry over "trivialisation of their deity".

The cover of the magazine got social media Twitter busy with people lambasting the magazine in strong words.

Fortune Editor-In-Chief Alan Murray apologised instantly and said, "Apologies to those offended.

Inappropriate usage of Hinduism concepts and symbols for pushing selfish agenda or mercantile greed was not okay."
