Bollywood has been mouthing support for Shah Rukh Khan, whose 23-year-old son Aryan Khan is caught up in a drug raid on a cruise ship and subsequently under the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau.

There are others, too, caught up in the same situation but as is the media's wont, we admit, the spotlight continues to be on Aryan Khan. While that may be unfortunate as the glare can be very harsh, it is shocking and infantile of the superstar's supporters to term this action as a witch-hunt or claim such and such persons are being targeted.

While support may be warranted and it is surely a very difficult time for families of those who have been caught, it is also vital that you do not dismiss these actions are fake, or not what they are. Young men of 23 or 24 are not children, that is point No 1. Secondly, stars have to see what the investigation brings forth, what trail the sleuths are hoping to unearth rather than rushing to pronounce witch-hunt.

The Bollywood stars who are screaming about the entertainment industry always being targeted and people envying the industry or whatever must get their perspective right. This is not about the industry. This is about drugs being found and some of these persons were on a cruise liner.

That they happen to be famous is true and therefore the limelight is on them. It is brighter and more glaring but that does not mean it does not warrant investigation. Being under constant scrutiny and in the public eye is hugely difficult but that does not make this unfair. Instead, being absolutely fair, just and using some balance, when it comes to this raid, will help these young men and women rather than trashing the investigation and continually playing the victim card.
