One can run out of every adjective in the dictionary as a reaction to the human sacrifice where two women were murdered in Kerala, and yet, that would be not enough. Three persons have been nabbed by the police in connection with the murder, reports stated. The killing was gruesome - blood on wall, bodies mutilated and evidence of torture and even cannibalism, some reports state. Those reading this may be aware of the details or can check the same through credible searches.
The overarching aim of this edit though is to point to this darkest, most depraved of crimes that has been done for superstitious reasons. The women have been sacrificed, ostensibly for good luck and so-called amelioration of the two of the accused's dire financial condition and dipping fortunes. This is an evolving case and more will be learnt even as you read this.
It is time to stamp out the utter and barbaric tosh being peddled by occult practitioners, through the harshest punishment possible. Also, it is usually women who bear the brunt of these heinous and reprehensible beliefs, as the wicked prey on the vulnerable.
The woman is believed to be the âhonour' of the family. This edit has highlighted honour killings, wherein the woman is the target. She is branded a witch, in some instances. At other times, she is a harbinger of bad luck and misfortune, and must be banished from the home or done away with altogether. At times she must be sacrificed to appease some spirit, and at other times she is the evil spirit incarnate herself. The abhorrent list goes on. The people spinning these lies are not just misguided practitioners, but are cold-blooded killers; and even if they do not murder people, they are spreading extremely dangerous practices. Let science be your guiding light and let the conmen and criminals face the full weight of justice, a weight that should crush these crimes completely.
