EXPLOITATION? A still from Slumdog Millionaire |
The recent news about child artistes in the Golden Globe award-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire being underpaid came as a shocker. If the reports are true and the producers have really paid the actors a measly sum, then it is a matter of great shame.
While the producers and everyone else connected with the movie made millions, it is a pity that they have ignored these children. Since the movie is creating a stir across the world, it is not wrong of the families of these child artists to expect a better deal.
The makers of Slumdog Millionaire should take immediate steps and meet the expectations of these families. Can we expect some transparency from the film producers?
