Over a foot long and big enough to hold seven ostrich eggs, an extinct elephant bird egg is up for auction

London: An extinct elephant bird egg, which is being termed as the world's biggest, might fetch £50,000 at an auction.

The egg is over a foot long and is big enough to hold seven ostrich eggs, 100 chicken eggs or 12,000 hummingbird eggs.

Errol Fuller, curator of the sale at Summers Place Auctions, said, "The egg of one of these birds was simply a miracle and it was larger than any known dinosaur egg.

The auction will take place in Billingshurst, West Sussex, England and is expected to fetch between £30,000 and £50,000. - Agencies
