Uddhav Thackeray, former CM of Maharashtra and son of Balasaheb Thackeray, is the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) party, a right-wing regional political party.
Uddhav entered politics following the footsteps of his father, Balasaheb Thackeray, who founded the Shiv Sena party in 1966.
In the year 2012, Uddhav succeeded his father as the leader of the Shiv Sena party after Balasaheb Thackeray's demise.
After the 2019 Maharashtra state election, Uddhav Thackeray played a crucial role in forming an alliance with the Indian National Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to form a coalition government in Maharashtra named as Maha Vikas aghadi (MVA).

Uddhav Thackeray's tenure as CM has also been marked by his handling of important challenges, such as the Covid-19 pandemic.
