Who can imagine the nimble hare ever losing to the crawling tortoise? This only happens in Aesop’s Fables, right? Turns out the tale is not fiction, but based on real events. Here's the video evidence...

"Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. ...," said Arthur Conan Doyle in Sherlock Holmes and guys and girls, hold on to your chairs, it is true.
From time immemorial we have been reading Aesop's Fables, which is a collection of fables credited to Aesop, a slave and storyteller believed to have lived in ancient Greece between 620 and 564 BCE.
One of the most popular ones is of the âTortoise and Rabbit' fable. We have all at one point or the other thought that it was just a story concocted by the moral-brigade to stop us from hitting the fast lane (More so as we have grown older).
Well, who could imagine the nimble hare ever losing to the crawling tortoise? This only happens in Aesop's Fables, right? Turns out the tale is not fiction, but based on real events.
Someone decided to test the fable's accuracy and staged a race between a rabbit (not hare) and a tortoise - and it went exactly as we were grown up to believe. A video of the race was uploaded on YouTube recently and it's gone viral.
In the video, just like in the fable, the bunny hops forward at the start to take a significant lead. But, just before the end it stops, and starts chilling and looking around. The tortoise, meanwhile, keeps on moving along at a steady pace and overtakes its competitor. The hare's agitated owner tries to call it to the finish line, tapping on the floor and cooing, but the bunny just isn't interested. By the time the bunny gets going again, the tortoise is already halfway across the finish line. Despite the hare being faster, it was a tortoise victory.
The tortoise crosses the line first.
The moral of the story is: Slow and steady does truly win the race.
