A UK man is making a brave attempt to walk length of the River Nile, a 4,250 mile journey along the world’s longest river that will see him pass through seven countries in one year


Johannesburg: A UK man is making an attempt to walk the length of the River Nile and has already faced crocodiles, a brutal civil war and the death of a fellow traveller within four months.

The yearlong, 6,380-km journey along the world's longest river will see the former British army captain pass through
seven countries.

Levison Wood, who is currently in South Sudan as a part of his journey, said that he always had a passion for Africa since he was young and it was the biggest expedition he could have thought of.

Wood said that the toughest challenge he found was to keep the momentum going and not get too agitated when there
were delays.
