On the occasion of Republic Day 2024, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the National Flag at Kartavya Path. The ceremony was followed by National anthem and 21 Gun salute. President Droupadi Murmu was given the national salute by the President`s Bodyguard at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan. French President Emmanuel Macron accompanied President Murmu. The Republic Day parade 2024 with `Aavahan`. For the first time ever, the parade is being heralded by over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments. The parade commenced with the music of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, etc. being played by these artists.
