During a public rally in Hazaribagh on October 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized regional parties for impeding the development of tribal communities in Jharkhand. He expressed concern over the declining tribal population and the increasing number of infiltrators in the state. Modi accused parties like the JMM and Congress of prioritizing their political power over the welfare of the tribal population, asserting, “They have never allowed the tribals to progress.” He highlighted the situation in Santhal Pargana as evidence of this issue, noting that while the tribal population is dwindling, the number of infiltrators is on the rise. Modi emphasized the dangers of creating a vote bank at the expense of Jharkhand’s development, calling it a “dangerous game” that threatens the region`s future. His remarks aimed to rally support for the BJP by framing it as the party focused on genuine development for the tribal communities of the state.
