Several neighborhoods in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, were inundated following intense rainfall that caused widespread flooding. The relentless downpours have resulted in over 100 confirmed fatalities. The flooding has disrupted daily life, with residents seen navigating through knee-deep water. In response, the government has mobilized more than 20,000 security personnel for search and rescue efforts. The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force (APF), and Nepal Police have successfully rescued 1,415 individuals from various locations in the valley. As the annual monsoon rains in South Asia brought heavy showers across the region, many rivers in Nepal overflowed, inundating roads and bridges. Watch video for more.
