Maharashtra Political Crisis: Ajit Pawar takes oath as Maharashtra’s Deputy CM

Amid the ongoing Maharashtra political crisis, Ajit Pawar has taken oath as Maharashtra’s Deputy CM. He will be sharing the post with BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis. Ajit Pawar reached Raj Bhawan with 29 NCP MLAs and joined the Maharashtra government of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. Earlier in the day, Ajit Pawar held an urgent meeting with some NCP party leaders and MLAs at his official residence in Mumbai. Ajit Pawar was rumoured to be unhappy about being denied the post of NCP’s state unit chief after Supriya Sule and Praful Patel were made the working presidents of the Nationalist Congress Party.
