Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde resigned as CM of Maharashtra on 26th November, Tuesday at around 11 am, submitting his resignation to Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan. Devendra Fadnavis of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP ) also visited the Raj Bhavan. The Maharashtra legislative assembly term is set to end today. While the Mahayuti alliance has not yet decided on a new Chief Minister, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre stated that many Marathas want Shinde to return as the CM. In the midst of the uncertainty, several Shiv Sena leaders have expressed support for Shinde, with some even performing an aarti at the Dagdusheth Ganpati temple to wish for his return. Meanwhile, Devendra Fadnavis has traveled to Delhi to meet with the BJP`s central leadership to discuss the next steps.
