She expressed dismay over the Delhi Government`s actions since her resignation as chairperson, alleging a deliberate effort to shut down the DCW. Maliwal stated that funds for the DCW have been withheld for six months, with a substantial 30% budget cut for the year. She lamented the closure of the crucial 181 Helpline, critical for a city often termed the "rape capital." Maliwal underscored her belief that such actions reflect a government discomfort with empowered women and their voices.
