Bangladesh has formally requested India to return former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India on August 5 after being ousted by a student-led movement amidst civil unrest. The request was made via a "note verbale" to the Indian government, according to Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Touhid Hossain. Following Hasina’s departure, an interim government, led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus, was formed. Hasina, in her statements, has accused Yunus of being the "mastermind" behind the student protests that led to her ousting. She further claimed that the protests were "meticulously designed" to topple her government. The political situation in Bangladesh remains tense as the crisis continues to unfold.
