Baba Siddique, a prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) aligned with Ajit Pawar, was tragically shot and killed on October 12 in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra, Mumbai. The attack involved three unidentified assailants, who targeted Siddique as he was going about his day. He was immediately rushed to the ICU at Lilavati Hospital, where medical staff made valiant efforts to save him, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, suffering from severe bullet wounds to the chest. Following the incident, his body was transferred to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
