Article 370 Verdict: PM Modi terms it ‘historic', Omar Abdullah and other political leaders react

The Supreme Court of India on Monday upheld the abrogation of Article 370 in a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. While some political leaders welcomed the Article 370 verdict, others expressed their disappointment. PM Modi in a tweet, welcomed the verdict terming it historic, a beacon of hope and a promise of a brighter future. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) President and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed their disappointment. On the other hand, Senior Congress leader and Maharaja Hari Singh`s son Karan Singh and Shiv Sena(UBT) MP Arvind Sawant welcomed the verdict.
