Air India flight makes emergency landing in Canada following bomb threat

Air India`s flight AI127 from Delhi to Chicago made an emergency landing in Iqaluit, Canada, on October 15 due to an online security threat. The landing was a precautionary measure, and all 211 passengers and crew were safely evacuated and re-screened according to security protocols. The airline reported that it, along with other local airlines, had received several threats in recent days. Fortunately, Air India later confirmed that the threat was a hoax. The airline plans to take legal action against those responsible to recover the costs incurred from the incident. This situation comes at a time of heightened diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, following the killing of a wanted terrorist, Nijjar. Air India emphasized its commitment to passenger safety and security amidst these challenges.
