Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a historic visit to Brunei on Tuesday, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian head of state to the island nation despite 40 years of diplomatic relations. During this visit, Modi will inaugurate the new Chancery of the High Commission of India and visit the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. His trip is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties with Brunei and celebrating four decades of diplomatic relations. Following Brunei, Modi will travel to Singapore for a two-day visit from September 4 to 5. In Singapore, he will engage in discussions with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to deepen India-Singapore relations. Modi emphasized that the visit will focus on enhancing India`s partnerships with both Brunei and Singapore. The trip underscores India`s commitment to its Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific Vision.
