Yahya Sinwar, the key planner of the October 7 attack on Israel, was killed in an operation in Southern Gaza. It began when a soldier from the 450th Battalion spotted a suspicious person in Rafah’s Tel Sultan neighborhood. The battalion commander ordered an attack on the building around 10:00 a.m. Later, a drone saw three figures leaving the building, with Sinwar among them. After opening fire, Sinwar entered another building. Israeli forces, including tanks and infantry, targeted both buildings. Sinwar threw grenades from the second floor, injuring some troops. A drone later caught him trying to hit it with a stick. After being attacked by a tank shell, Sinwar’s body was found the next day. Israeli officials confirmed his identity using DNA and fingerprints. Sinwar was discovered with cash, Mentos, and ID cards. The operation was led by the Bislamach Brigade.
