Bhagat Singh Koshyari: in the last week of July this year, Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari made a controversial comment during a function in suburban Andheri stating that 'Mumbai wouldn’t be the financial capital of the country, if the Gujarati and Rajasthani communities, who have all the wealth, were not here' His comment evoked strong reactions from all parties. Later on, he released an apology saying, “Perhaps I made a mistake while appreciating the contribution of some communities to Mumbai’s development.”

After a few months, Koshyari again made a remark that led to a controversy. He stated, ''Earlier, when you would be asked who is your icon 'Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi' used to be the answers. In Maharashtra, you need not look elsewhere (as) there are so many icons here. While Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is of old time, there are Ambedkar and Nitin Gadkari".

Richa Chadda: Bollywood actress Richa Chadha got trolled on social media for tweeting about the Galwan incident. Chadha had reacted to Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi's statement that 'Indian Army is ready to execute orders like taking back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).' Reacting to the Army commander's post, Richa took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "Galwan says hi". Within a few minutes, Richa's tweet became viral and she started getting trolled for the same. The actress later deleted the post.

Nupur Sharma: In the last week of May, the former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma made derogatory comments on the TV News debate regarding Prophet Mohammad. A clip of the debate was later shared on a micro-blogging site and she was blamed for spreading hate. Nupur Sharma later apologised for the comments and said that she was provoked by the mockery of the "Shivling". Following the outrage, the BJP suspended her from the party on 5 June.

Baba Ramdev: In November last month, at a public event in Thane Baba Ramdev stated, "Women can look good in anything, saree, salwar kameez or even when they wear nothing". He received a notice for his remark on women from Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW), and then issued an apology

Paresh Rawal: While addressing the crowd during an election rally in Gujarat last month, actor Paresh Rawal in his speech said, "Gas cylinders are expensive, but their price will come down. People will get employment too. But what will happen if Rohingya migrants and Bangladeshis start living around you, like in Delhi? What will you do with gas cylinders? Cook fish for the Bengalis?". His speech did not go down well with many. The actor was accused of hurting the sentiments of Bengali people with his words

Abdul Sattar allegedly used abusive remarks against MP Supriya Sule while he was reacting to Sule's comments about Shiv Sena MLAs joining Eknath Shinde’s camp.
