Actor Shakti Kapoor's son Siddhanth Kapoor arrested by Bengaluru police for consuming drugs
Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor's son Sidhhanth Kapoor was arrested by the Bengaluru police for allegedly consuming drugs, the police said. Sidhhanth was initially detained along with 35 others following a raid at a party organised at a posh hotel. The police had made all the 35 people undergo medical tests out of which five including Sidhhanth's reports turned out to be positive.
Mumbai: 42 per cent Covid-19 beds at St George’s Hospital occupied with new patients in 13 days
As hospitalisation has started increasing in Mumbai, the state-run St George’s Hospital, which started working as a non-Covid hospital in May, has again started getting Covid positive cases for hospitalisation. Presently, the hospital has reserved few beds for Covid-positive cases and has 21 admissions in the past 13 days. Out of the total 50 reserved beds for Covid cases, 42 per cent of the beds are occupied with new Covid patients.
Weather update: Rain, thunderstorms likely in Mumbai in next two days
Mumbai will further cool down in the next one or two days, with the Indian Meteorological Department predicting light and moderate rain and thunderstorms in the city. Mumbai: School bus operators to hike charges by 20 per cent
School bus operators in Mumbai will soon be increasing the bus operational charges by at least 20 per cent in the current academic year, as compared to rates before the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the school operators, the hike in price will be due to a rise in fuel price and other reasons. The hike in charges will differ as per the localities and schools, the School Bus Owners Association (SBOA) office-bearer Ramesh Maniyan, as schools across the city opened on Monday.

Mumbai: ‘Re-start-up’ challenges for school post-pandemic
The parents of Std IX students at the Orchids International School, Masjid Bunder, have approached its trustees with complaints regarding its functioning. They said they have been awaiting hard copies of mark sheets for the previous three years, have fee-related issues, issues with expensive uniforms and books, etc. In their letter to the trustees on June 9, some of the parents have criticised the school’s principal, Dr Kavita Nagpal, claiming she is rude to them and has not yet addressed their concerns.
Woman found dead with head smashed at Palghar bus depot; cops suspect murder
A 65-year-old woman was found dead at a bus depot in Maharashtra's Palghar district. According to the police, the body of the woman, hailing from Kandivli village, was found with her head smashed at the state transport bus depot in Wada area around 11 pm on Sunday.
Ex-Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh moves Bombay HC seeking release for one day to vote in MLC polls
Anil Deshmukh, former Maharashtra home minister, who is currently in jail on money-laundering charges has moved to the Bombay High Court. Deshmukh is seeking to be released for a day on June 20 to cast his vote in polls to the state Legislative Council. Deshmukh's lawyer Inderpal Singh mentioned the application before a single bench of Justice NJ Jamadar. The court posted the matter for hearing on June 15. "In the application, Deshmukh has sought to be released on a bond on June 20 so as to enable him to cast his vote in the MLC elections," Singh said.
Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray to visit Ayodhya on June 15
Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut confirmed that Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray will visit Ayodhya on June 15 to seek the blessings of Lord Ram. Raut also said that Thackeray's visit is not a political programme.
