Mann's visit to the Golden Temple marked the launch of 'The Hope Initiative' by Amritsar's police force, a determined effort to combat the drug menace that has affected the state for years. The participating schoolchildren, dressed in yellow turbans, scarves, and dupattas, joined CM Mann in this solemn and meaningful prayer.

Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, has historically served as a source of inspiration for various noble causes. The purpose of this particular 'ardas' was to seek the blessings of the Almighty for the success of a unique mission – the mission to eradicate the scourge of drugs from Punjab.

Mann emphasized the significance of the large number of youths participating in this campaign, highlighting the younger generation's willingness to support the state government in this noble cause.

He underlined that this mass movement, targeting drug addiction, is the first of its kind and has the potential to weaken the grip of this menace.

'The Hope Initiative' adopts a three-pronged strategy involving prayer, pledging, and engaging in activities. This campaign represents a groundbreaking approach to addressing the drug issue, starting at the grassroots level.

Notably, in addition to the students, thousands of people from various backgrounds came together to offer prayers, including through online participation.

Mann expressed optimism about the future, asserting that the day is not far when the drug menace will be entirely eradicated from Punjab, thanks to the active support and cooperation of the people.

He highlighted the government's multifaceted approach, with efforts focused on both disrupting the drug supply chain by apprehending drug peddlers and providing treatment and rehabilitation for those affected by drug addiction. This comprehensive approach is expected to lead to a drug-free Punjab.
