Mysuru's grand Dasara Festival concludes with 'Jamboo Savari' procession

The procession featured an impressive display of caparisoned elephants, carrying the deity of Mysuru city, Chamundeshwari, seated atop a majestic 750 kg golden 'houdah,' positioned on the lead elephant, Abhimanyu. 

In attendance at this illustrious event were Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, District in-charge Minister HC Mahadevappa, the titular king of Mysuru, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and other members of the royal family, all of whom paid their respects to Goddess Chamundeshwari.

Ballari district presented the cultural heritage of the Hakki-Pikki tribes, while Belagavi district exhibited a model of the historic Mahalingeshwara temple. Bengaluru Urban district showcased the accomplishments of ISRO's Chandrayaan-3, and Kolar brought forth the Gaarudi dance.

Bidar highlighted the region's distinctive wildlife, and Chamarajanagar unveiled a model of the renowned Male Mahadeshwara temple. Chikkamagaluru portrayed the diverse flora, fauna, and aromatic coffee produced in the district.

The Dasara celebrations also featured Kushti, traditional Indian wrestling, as one of the main attractions, alongside various cultural events held over the ten-day period.

The festivities reached their pinnacle as the procession made its way from the palace to Bannimantap, attracting thousands of spectators who had gathered to witness this majestic spectacle. People from around the world visit Mysuru to experience its royal splendour and the grandeur of the Dasara festival.
