YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the Anakapalli Hospital to meet workers who were injured in a recent factory explosion.

A severe explosion occurred at a pharma company in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Atchutapuram, Anakapalli, killing 17 people and injuring several others. The explosion was caused by a reactor malfunction, and around 200 workers were present at the time.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has mandated a high-level inquiry into the explosion incident. He announced a compensation package, offering Rs one crore to families of the deceased, Rs 50 lakh to seriously injured individuals, and Rs 25 lakh for those with minor injuries.

Chief Minister Naidu addressed the media about the explosion, highlighting the need for improved safety measures and regulatory checks. He expressed his commitment to enhancing safety standards while continuing to promote investment in the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar have all expressed their condolences and shock over the tragic factory explosion in Anakapalli.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticised the current government’s response to the disaster, comparing it with the previous administration’s prompt compensation practices. He emphasised the need for empathy and quick action in dealing with such tragic events.

The explosion at the Anakapalli pharma factory underscores the urgent need for stricter safety regulations and precautionary measures in industrial settings.

The high-level committee formed by Chief Minister Naidu will investigate the factory explosion to identify any lapses in safety protocols and recommend improvements.
