Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi as India celebrates 75 years of independence. Flower petals were showered at the venue by two MI-17 1V Helicopters. The Air Force band played the National Anthem at the hoisting of the National Flag. Apart from around 250 eminent personalities at the Red Fort during the event, nearly 8,000-10,000 people attended the programme. Pic/ PTI

PM Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the historic Red Fort on the occasion of the 76th Independence Day. Dressed in a traditional white kurta and churidar along with a powder blue shade jacket, the highlight of his outfit was the tricolour-themed headgear, which also kept up with the theme of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahatosav" celebrations.
