The Adheenams, who arrived from Tamil Nadu earlier in the day, met Modi at his residence and handed him a special gifts including 'Sengols' amid chanting of 'mantras'

The prime minister will on Sunday inaugurate the new Parliament building, equipped with state-of-the-art technology

Sengol holds significance not only because it was a sacred symbol of Power transfer in 1947, it is also significant as it served as a connecting bridge between the ancient and glorious traditions of India of pre-colonial times and the future of the independent India, PM Modi said on Saturday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the new Parliament building on Sunday (May 28) and as many as 20 opposition parties have said that they will not attend the function, contending that it should be done by President Droupadi Murmu

On Friday, PM Modi said the new Parliament building will make every Indian proud and shared a video of the new complex
