Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi was accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande and others when he entered at the National War Memorial ahead of his oath-taking ceremony for the third consecutive term.

He is the only leader after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to have been elected for a third consecutive term after completing the full tenure of each previous term. 

After the National War Memorial Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi went ahead and performed 'parikrama' as he payed  tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Sadaiv Atal Memorial in New Delhi on Sunday.

Alongside Narendra Modi, members of his council of ministers will also take their oath on the same day. In the early afternoon, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi addressed a meeting in the presence of NDA leaders and potential cabinet and council of ministers.

NDA leaders including Jitin Prasada and Anupriya Patel were present in a meeting with Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi over tea.

NDA leaders Shivraj Singh Chouhan, H.D. Kumaraswamy, Manohar Lal Khattar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Nirmala Sitharaman, S. Jaishankar and others were also present during an interaction with Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi over tea, in New Delhi on Sunday.

Several leaders and State heads of neighbourhood region and Indian Ocean region have been invited for PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony as distinguished guests, a testament to India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy. in the oath-taking ceremony.

Apart from the leaders and state heads, more than 250 workers who were involved in the construction of the Parliament will also come to BJP leader Mansukh Mandaviya's residence at 3 pm before heading to the President's house to participate in the oath-taking ceremony.
