The ED had on Monday seized Rs 36.23 crore from the suspects during a raid in Jharkhand

Both Sanjiv Lal, PS to Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam, and his domestic help, Jahangir Alam, were arrested by the ED after the raids. Reportedly, the duo was questioned by the ED overnight and later taken into custody on Tuesday

Continuing with searches on Tuesday, the ED carried out raids at five locations in Ranchi and seized around Rs 1.5 crore from a contractor identified as Rajiv Kumar Singh. Reportedly, over Rs 10 crore was routed through him, officials said

Sanjiv Lal collected commission on tenders on behalf of "some influential people", the ED told a court on Tuesday

The ED also claimed that officials of the rural development department, from "top to bottom", were involved in an alleged illegal cash payment nexus
