This four-day festival of Chhath, celebrated for its essence of purity, goodwill, and faith, involves worshippers making offerings to the setting and rising sun, symbolizing the worship of the Sun God.

Participants shared their unwavering commitment to this age-old tradition, expressing their belief in the blessings and happiness bestowed by "Chhath Maiya" upon their families through this devoted practice.

Commencing on Friday, the festival symbolises the reverence for nature and the Sun, highlighting the essence of purity, faith, and prayers.

Although traditionally celebrated in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bengal, the festivity of Chhath Puja has extended its reach to the national capital, Delhi, due to the presence of a significant population hailing from these states.

Devotees observe fasts and offer prayers to the Sun God, seeking blessings for the longevity and well-being of their families, as well as for the fulfillment of their aspirations.

Originating from the hilly regions of Nepal post the restoration of democracy in 1990, the festival gained prominence and is now observed with great fervor across various regions.

During this period of fasting, individuals consume only pure foods, emphasizing cleanliness as an integral aspect of this sacred observance.

Celebrated with enthusiasm, the festival witnesses high participation from women, providing them with a brief respite from daily household chores and serving as an occasion for rejuvenation.

Believers hold firm to the belief that heartfelt prayers and desires from the core of their hearts receive divine blessings during this auspicious time, reinforcing their faith in the festival's spiritual significance.
