Similar foggy conditions were observed in Gwalior, Agra, Amritsar, and Pathankot, disrupting daily activities in the affected areas. The IMD has also reported the presence of fog and low clouds in northwest, central, east, and northeast India, with patches reaching coastal Andhra Pradesh.

In Delhi, the minimum temperature on Thursday is forecasted at 8 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 17 degrees Celsius. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 278 at 8 am, categorised as 'poor' by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).

An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered 'poor,' signalling a significant impact on health due to air pollution. North India continues to experience a strong winter chill, with temperatures dropping further following the New Year.

To provide relief for the homeless, the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has set up 235 pagoda tents across the city. Night shelters have been arranged in key areas of Delhi, including AIIMS, Lodhi Road, and near the Nizamuddin flyover, to accommodate vulnerable individuals.

In response to the cold, residents of Delhi were seen gathering around bonfires and seeking shelter in night homes to stay warm. Due to snowfall in Srinagar, IndiGo Airlines issued a travel advisory, advising passengers of potential flight delays and disruptions.
