In Photos: BJP leaders distribute masks as Delhi faces severe pollution levels

Virendra Sachdeva blamed the AAP-led Delhi government for the deteriorating air quality and attributed it to their 'poor work'. Sachdeva expressed concern over the worsening air quality, saying people in Delhi are suffering due to the state government's governance.
 He highlighted the need for better dust control measures and urged the Punjab government to stop stubble burning, which contributes to the pollution. Sachdeva stated that solving the pollution crisis would require year-round efforts, not just a one-month focus on the issue.
Due to the severe pollution levels, Stage 4 (Severe+) of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) was invoked in Delhi-NCR. In response to the air quality crisis, the Delhi government suspended physical classes for all students except those in classes 10 and 12, shifting all schools to online learning.
Under Stage 4 of GRAP, truck traffic entering Delhi was restricted, except for essential services and goods. Only trucks with LNG/CNG/electric or BS-VI diesel engines were allowed. All construction and demolition activities were banned as part of the emergency measures under Stage 4.
The Graded Response Action Plan divides the air quality into stages, with Stage 4 designated for AQI levels above 450, indicating 'Severe+' air quality. The BJP's mask distribution was part of an awareness campaign to educate the public about pollution and encourage action to improve Delhi's air quality.
