Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Shri Ram International Airport and the revamped Ayodhya railway station on December 30, marking a significant event for the region.
While employing modern construction materials, the airport's terminal boasts a traditional facade akin to the architectural style planned for the Ram temple, capturing the essence of heritage and modernity.
Workers raced to finalise civil work at the airport, adorning the terminal with tricolour-themed fabric, highlighting a patriotic touch for its imminent unveiling.
The terminal's entrance and facade feature sandstone cladding bearing intricate carvings, mirroring the iconic style envisioned for the Ram temple.
Surrounding roads are adorned with welcoming posters showcasing Prime Minister Modi's images, instilling a celebratory ambiance in the city.
Decorative elements such as ornamental lamp posts and greenery along the route further enhance the cultural and aesthetic appeal of the airport's vicinity.
The Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate the airport around noon after dedicating the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and flagging off new railway projects earlier in the day.
The first phase of the airport, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,450 crore, boasts a terminal covering 6,500 sqm, geared to accommodate approximately 10 lakh passengers annually.
Local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Lord Ram adorn the terminal, providing passengers with a cultural and historical experience.
IndiGo is set to commence commercial operations from January 6, connecting Ayodhya to major cities like Delhi and Ahmedabad, promising improved connectivity for residents and visitors.
The airport's sustainable features and enhanced connectivity are expected to catalyse tourism, business prospects, and employment opportunities in the region, fostering overall development.
