As the Nagaland ambush resulted in the killing of 15 people, including one security personnel, several organisations in the state called for a total bandh across Naga-inhabited regions. Expressing anger over the killing of civilians in Mon, six tribes under Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO) and a few other tribes decided to refrain from participating in the cultural programmes. The National Human Rights Commission on December 6 took suo-motu cognizance of media reports on the Nagaland ambush.
