Indian Army's northern commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, on Saturday, reviewed the operational situation near the gunfight site that has continued for four days.

On fourth day of the operation, security personnel used drones, helicopters to track and neutralise the terrorists; the drones and helicopters helped in keeping a vigil in hilly terrain and trace locations of the terrorists in the forest in Gadole in the Kokernag area.

Footage from a drone showed a militant running for cover after a cave-like hideout was hit by shells fired by Indian security forces on Friday.

Reportedly, the police believe two to three terrorists are trapped in the forest area and the forces have maintained a tight cordon in the area of encounter.

Visuals of the civilians walking past the site of an encounter with terrorists at Kokernag area, in Anantnag district surfaced on Saturday.
