The occasion is marked by heartfelt prayers for the peace of the departed souls, reflecting the Christian belief in the afterlife and eternal peace.

Prayers and religious services are held on the day, also known as The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, with devout Christians offering petitions for the deceased.

The cemetery was adorned with candles, flower petals, and garlands on the graves, emphasizing the importance of remembrance and respect.

Christians in Chennai gathered to observe the day by offering prayers and tributes to their deceased loved ones at the Kilpauk cemetary.

Reverend Immanuel Titus, the Secretary of the Church of South India, highlighted the Christian belief in bodily resurrection and eternal life, as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Reverend Titus said that Christians believe that through faith in Jesus Christ, one can attain eternal life. This day serves as a message of hope, emphasizing that those who believe in Jesus will live forever.

The priest stressed the importance of propagating the faith of bodily resurrection and eternal life to the wider human family, which is an essential aspect of evangelism.
