Rajnath Singh, who took oath as Defence Minister visited Siachen, on June 3, 2019, the world's highest battlefield, and interacted with soldiers of the Indian army, who are guarding the border beyond the heights of 12,000 ft. Rajnath was accompanied by Army Chief Gen. Bipin Rawat and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command Ranbir Singh.

Rajnath Singh paid tributes to the martyred soldiers of the Indian army who sacrificed their lives while serving in the Siachen glacier. While sharing the photos of his visit, Rajnath wrote: The nation will always remain indebted to their service and sacrifice.
