Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba Jadeja joined the BJP party from Gujarat's Jamnagar on March 3, 2019.

The move comes after Rivaba and Ravindra Jadeja had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi in October 2018.

Rivaba Jadeja joined the BJP party in the presence of Gujarat cabinet minister R C Faldu, MP Poonamben and MLA Bakubhai Jadeja in Jamnagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state.

Last year, Rivaba was appointed as the head of Karni Sena's women's wing in Gujarat. Karni Sena had come into the limelight after they had launched massive protests against Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer film 'Padmaavat' in 2018.

BJP leaders of Gujarat presented Rivaba Jadeja with a saffron scarf while welcoming her to the party.
