Nitesh Rane: Narayan Rane's son who will battle against all in Kankavli

Nitesh Rane, former Congress MLA and son of former Maharashtra chief minister Narayan Rane joined the BJP and he will contest in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls on October 21. Rane junior will contest from the Kankavli seat in coastal Konkan. Here's what you need to know about him

Nitesh Rane is an MBA graduate and has studied in the United Kingdom along with his elder brother Nilesh Rane

Nitesh Rane arrived on the political scene as head of NGO Swabhiman Sanghatana, which had launched a drive against the Mumbai water mafia in 2011

 

 

In October 2011 at Kamgar Maidan, Mumbai, Swabhiman Sanghatana set a Guinness World Record by conducting largest job fair which gave over 25,000 jobs to unemployed youth, including physically challenged

In February 2012, Nitesh Rane launched Sindhudurg Tour Guide, a training program with the aim to provide employment and self-employment to local youth in tourism industry in the Sindhudurg

In February 2014, Nitesh Rane launched a mobile job providing initiative called "Naukri Express" which aimed to travel across Maharashtra advertising vacancies in local organisations

Nitesh Rane married Rutuja Shinde on November 28, 2010. The wedding ceremony took place at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai and the reception was held at Royal Western India Turf Club. 

It was said that Nitesh Rane's wedding card was copyrighted. The card that reached mid-day was accompanied by a box of sweets and dry-fruits

Nitesh Rane and his wife have a kid named Nimish Rane. Nitesh Rane shared a picture on Twitter and wrote, "My son joins his grandfathers Maharashtra Swabhiman Party before me...I m still in waiting !! Jai Swabhiman!!" [sic]

Nitesh Rane won the 2014 Assembly polls from Kankavli seat in Sindhudurg district on Congress' ticket by defeating the then BJP MLA Pramod Jathar

In 2019, Nitesh Rane filed his nomination from the Kankavli seat while being flanked by his father and BJP's master strategist Prasad Lad

Nitesh Rane told mid-day, "More important for us is people's perception. Voters are happy with the development work done by the Rane family. Nothing else matters. I know a few are trying to play mischief, but the rest of the leadership and workers are working for my victory."
