WhatsApp Messenger has been down for several users for past several minutes. Many WhatsApp users took to social media platforms to complain about the messenger service being down and said that they were being unable to send or receive messages.
In a tweet, ANI said, "We're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we're working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible," Meta company spokesperson said.
According to Downdetector, a website that reports on outages and other problems, many users reported issues in using WhatsApp since 3:17 AM EDT, the ANI reported.
Affected regions based on Downdetector's heat-map include major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad as well as Nagpur and Lucknow among others, as per the ANI.

Netizens took to Twitter to complain about the WhatsApp messenger services not working for them.
A Twitter user by the handle name Nandani Sharma wrote, "So I was blaming my WiFi but actually I got to check on Twitter that the WhatsApp is down."
Another Twitter user, Arun Singh wrote, "Your internet and phone weren't the problem."
