Uttarakhand CM resigns amid talks of discontent with him

Trivendra Singh Rawat on Tuesday resigned as the chief minister of Uttarakhand. Trivendra Rawat submitted his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya at Raj Bhawan after his arrival from Delhi, where he met the party's central leadership. He would have completed four years in office on March 17.

State minister Dhan Singh Rawat has emerged as a frontrunner to succeed him. The central BJP leadership recently sent two observers, party vice president Raman Singh and general secretary Dushayant Kumar Gautam, to Uttarakhand to get feedback from the party's core group in the state amid reports of discontent with the chief minister.
