Meanwhile, in an another incident in Maharashtra, a training aircraft belonging to a private aviation academy crashed near a village in Maharashtra's Pune district on Sunday morning, injuring a trainee pilot and an instructor on board the plane, police said. The aircraft crashed near Gojubavi village under Baramati taluka at around 8 am, news agency PTI reported.
"A training aircraft, belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy, crashed near Gojubavi village. A trainee pilot and an instructor suffered injuries in the crash. Both have been rushed to a nearby hospital," PTI quoted Baramati police station's senior inspector Prabhakar More as having said. "The cause of the crash is not yet known. We are conducting a probe into the incident," he said.
This is the second such incident involving the private aviation academy's aircraft in four days.
On October 20, Thursday, a training aircraft belonging to a private aviation academy crashed near a village in the district, injuring the pilot who was the only one on board the plane.
Police had earlier in the day said besides the pilot, one more person was on board the plane, and after the crash, they were rushed to a nearby hospital. However, they later maintained that information gathered by them indicated besides the pilot, no one else was inside the aircraft.
The aircraft, belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy, crashed near Katfal village under Baramati taluka of the western Maharashtra district, said the police.
