Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was actively involved in election campaigning in West Bengal, on Wednesday said he has tested positive for COVID-19. He had isolated himself even before the test results came on Tuesday after some officials in his contact tested positive for Coronavirus. Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon also said he is in home quarantine after contracting the virus.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has also tested positive. "People who have come in contact with me in the past few days should get themselves tested. They are requested to stay in isolation for some days," Yadav tweeted. Yadav had recently visited Haridwar where the Kumbh Mela is underway and met various religious leaders. On reaching Lucknow, Yadav got himself tested on Tuesday.
