Two minors arrested for raping a 15-year-old girl

In a shocking incident, two minor boys, aged 16 and 13, have been arrested by police for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in the Belolpur village of the Balongi area in Kharar, Punjab.

The victim's elder sister, who had filed the complaint, said the two boys had befriended the minor and then raped her. The victim's parents are labourers and live in Uttar Pradesh and as a result of this, she (victim) was living with her sister.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Investigating officer, Balwinder Sharma said the victim knew the accused as they were neighbours. A case under Sections 376 (sexual assault) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been filed against the two minors.

Singh further said that both accused were produced in the local court and have been sent to the observation centre in Hoshiarpur.
