On Tuesday, according to the police, two citizens of Bangladesh were caught red-handed at Agartala railway station for entering Indian territory without any valid documents, the police said.
Mehedi Hassan (35), and Nargis Akhter (35) were named as the defendants. The two were from Bangladesh's Khulna district, according to the police.
The police informed further that a specific case was registered against them in the Government Railway Police station located at Agartala railway station under Indian Penal Code sections 120 (B), 370, section (A)/14(C) of the Foreigner Act 1946 and section three of IPP Act.
Police said both accused would be produced before the court on Wednesday.
