Some Western Railway trains will be affected by a scheduled block occurring between Chalthan and Gangadhra stations from the 18th to the 22nd of October, 2023. The block is essential for the launching of a 36-meter composite girder as part of a road overbridge (ROB) construction project, the Western Railway said in a statement.
It said, this block will be operated on both the UP and Down lines along the Surat-Bhusaval line of the Tapti Valley section.
Western Railway officials have announced the rescheduling of several trains due to this block, affecting passenger travel plans. The Chief Public Relations Officer, Shri Sumit Thakur, issued a press release detailing the rescheduled trains as follows:
Train No. 19046 Chhapra - Surat Tapti Ganga Express: Passengers with journeys commencing on the 17th, 18th, and 21st of October, 2023, will experience a 2-hour rescheduling.

Train No. 09378 Nandurbar - Udhna MEMU: Travelers planning journeys from the 18th to the 22nd of October, 2023, will face a 1-hour rescheduling.
Train No. 22948 Bhagalpur - Surat SF Express: Passengers scheduled to travel on the 19th of October, 2023, will experience a 2-hour rescheduling.
Passengers affected by these rescheduled journeys are kindly requested to take note of the changes in their travel plans. The Western Railway authorities have taken these measures to ensure passenger safety and to facilitate the construction of the important road overbridge.
In an another statement, the Western Railway said that Varanasi Yard remodelling was commissioned on October 15.
It said, a massive 663 route EI having 283 signals, 214 points along with block working in 6 directions including yard modification involving 158 new Turnouts and track linking with RE of nearly 38 km has been commissioned after tireless hard work and meticulous planning. This involved laying of 38 km new track equivalent to doubling of more than 38 km.
